How should the landlord terminate the lease?
Termination of the lease is subject to a minimum period, so that the tenant has a reasonable time to find replacement accommodation. The legal notice period for the landlord is 3 months plus 1 month for each year that the tenant lives there, with a maximum of 6 months. Rent cancellations must always be made in writing (and preferably sent by registered letter or handed over in person, in return for an acknowledgement of receipt).
